The Hunger Games is traveling back in time to tell President Snow’s origin story. The Hunger Games franchise made household names out of Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth. Now, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is about to do the same with Tom Blyth.
Tom, 28, is a rising star in Hollywood, whose career is about to take off because of The Hunger Games prequel. From his role as young Coriolanus Snow to his past roles, here’s everything you need to know about Tom.
Tom Plays Young Coriolanus Snow
The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, out November 17, is set 64 years before the events of The Hunger Games. Tom plays young Coriolanus Snow, who is played by Donald Sutherland in the other movies. Coriolanus, a.k.a. Coryo, is a student who is assigned to mentor Lucy Gray Baird for the 10th Annual Hunger Games. Tom falls in love with Lucy Gray, played by Rachel Zegler, as she fights for her life, and he also discovers the lengths he’ll go to for power.
“I definitely felt that if I judge this guy, then I won’t be able to play him fairly,” Tom told Vanity Fair. “I had to forget about all the stuff that he’s going to do in the later films and basically, in my eyes, make him a hero—or, at least make him the main character in my story in the same way that you or I are the main character in our stories.”

Tom was born in Birmingham, England, and grew up in Woodthorpe. His dad is producer Gavin Blyth, who died in 2010. Tom now lives in Brooklyn, New York.
Tom Made His Feature Film Debut in 2010
Tom made his first on-screen appearance in 2010’s Robin Hood. He’s appeared in several short films. He played Archie Baldwin in a 2022 episode of The Gilded Age. Tom plays Billy in the MGM+ original series Billy the Kid.

“I was kind of a little bit of a fanboy growing up,” he said on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. “I used to love dressing up as my favorite characters, so it’s Star Wars, Harry Potter, you name it. I used to make my own characters up, like a mish-mash of different characters.”
