Bio:
Ahmad Khan Rahami (born January 23, 1988 in Afghanistan) is the suspect arrested in relation to the Sept. 17 bombings in Seaside, NJ and the Chelsea neighborhood in NYC. His fingerprint was found on both of the pressure cooker bombs in Chelsea, one of which did not detonate. Ahmad and his family reportedly resided in Elizabeth, NJ and his family owned and operated the restaurant, First American Fried Chicken. They had some trouble with the city regarding the 24-hour operation of the restaurant, as rowdy, late-night visitors would disrupt the neighborhood. It was voted for the restaurant to be closed at 10pm, but the Rahami’s did not comply. An older son of the Rahami family, reportedly, got in a fight with a police officer who came in to force the restaurant to close. He fled to Afghanistan before the issue could be resolved. The Rahami family then sued the mayor, the Council and some 20 police officers for discrimination. Ahmad was taken into custody after a shootout with police in Linden, NJ. He was wounded in the shoulder.
