Angelina Jolie, 41, shocked us all on Sept. 20, when it was revealed she’d filed papers to divorce Brad Pitt, 52, the day before, with the date of separation listed as Sept. 15. In her documents, she asked for sole physical custody of the pair’s six kids, joint legal custody, and no spousal or child support, and immediately, the world was buzzing with what could have gone wrong.
It was originally reported that Angie pulled the plug on the relationship because she disagreed with her husband’s parenting methods, but things quickly escalated. Added reports claimed that Brad allegedly had a marijuana/alcohol/anger management problem. Then, rumors started buzzing that the relationship ended because the actress found out Brad had cheated on her with his Allied co-star, Marion Cotillard, 40, and a subsequent report that the French star was pregnant had everyone speculating that she might be carrying the 52-year-old’s child. The chatter was only intensified when a trailer for Allied was released on the same day — and it, of course, showed a steamy sex scene between Brad and Marion.

Eventually, after a day of gossip, Marion took to Instagram to confirm her pregnancy — with her longtime partner Guillaume Canet. She also denied any involvement in Brad and Angelina’s split, although she did point out that she has a deep respect for both of them.

Even with the affair rumors out of the way, a bombshell new report shook things up even more on Sept. 22 — Brad was allegedly being investigated for child abuse. The investigation began after the actor allegedly got drunk on a plane on Sept. 14 and became verbally/physically abusive with his children. Upon landing, he reportedly continued his tirade on the tarmac, which is when an anonymous caller alerted authorities and the Department of Child & Family Services.
Brad and Angelina were interviewed about the alleged incident, and the case was handed over to the FBI, who confirmed they are investigating the situation. Details about what allegedly went down have slowly been emerging, and the latest story is that Brad and Angelina got into a fight on the plane after he had too much to drink. During the altercation, the pair’s oldest son, Maddox, 15, reportedly tried to verbally defend his mother, which is when Brad allegedly got physical with the teenager. Sources close to the actor confirmed that things did get out of hand as the fight escalated, and that Brad “put his hands on” Maddox, but maintain that he was not abusive in anyway, and that he did not hit any of his children, nor has he ever done so.
