Donald Trump, 74, is apparently not loving the renovations being done to his private club, Mar-a-Lago, and three days before Christmas, he made it known. The President of the United States, who will be leaving the White House next month so President-elect Joe Biden, 78, can take his place, was “not happy” with the changes, which included white marble and dark wood décor, even though many of them were overseen by his wife, Melania Trump, 50, according to a source at CNN. “He was not happy with it,” the source said, while also explaining there were many loud, one-sided conversations with club management about his feelings.

The renovations Donald’s not pleased with have been underway for the past several weeks and they are meant to make the approximately 3,000-square-foot-space look larger, the outlet further reported. He was angry with not only the overall living space renovations, but other parts of the renovations as well. Although he knew it was Melania and her interior decorator, Tham Kannalikham, who chose the details of most of the renovations, he reportedly still expressed his anger about them to the Mar-a-Lago staff.

A source further explained that Donald disliked the white marble and dark wood décor that was part of the renovations so much that he had them promptly removed.

The dislike of the renovations came at a time when Donald appeared more “moody” than usual during his recent holiday visit to the Florida estate, a source at the club claimed. He was spending a lot of time behind closed doors and not mingling with staff members as much as he usually does, the source added.

“The vibe is off,” another source, who was present at the estate’s Christmas this year, told the outlet while comparing Donald’s latest visit to past holiday visits.

Despite the reported tension going on at Mar-a-Lago, Donald and his family are still planning on having their annual black-tie New Year’s Eve party there on Dec. 31, a member of the club told CNN. The event, which usually costs thousands per ticket, already has at least 500 reservations confirmed, the member further claimed. It’s not yet clear whether or not the guests will adhere to the coronavirus mitigation guidelines while at the end-of-the-year bash.
