With so many current and very recently former Vanderpump Rules cast members announcing pregnancies so close together, fans are wondering what’s in the water! But there’s one in particular that shocked Tom Sandoval, 37, and girlfriend Ariana Madix, 35. “Honestly, I feel like Scheana [Shay] possibly was the one that was surprising,” Ariana told HollywoodLife EXCLUSIVELY during an episode of TVTalk on Instagram Live on Dec. 4. “Only just because she’s always wanted to be a mom. But she’s been very open about fertility issues and was told that she could not get pregnant.”

Scheana, along with Stassi Schroeder, 32, Lala Kent, 30, and Brittany Cartwright, 31, all announced their pregnancies within weeks of each other. Stassi subsequently tied the knot to her man Beau Clark, 40, in October — just four months after both announcing the news and being fired from the Bravo series. The couple will welcome a baby girl in January. Brittany, who is married to cast member Jax Taylor, 40, is expecting a baby boy in April 2021 after confirming her exciting news in September. Lala is also expecting a baby girl with fiancé Randall Emmett, 49.

It was really Scheana’s personal plan that threw Tom and Ariana completely for a loop. We just thought it was a ways off!” Tom revealed. “She had a plan in place to freeze eggs, do another round of egg freezing and then do it later,” Ariana explained. “And of course she had that really sad and awful miscarriage and so to see her happy and healthy and pregnant again is awesome and so we’re excited. We’re excited to be auntie and uncle!”

The mom to be, who is expecting her baby girl in April 2021 with boyfriend Brock Davies, has been quite open about her pregnancy journey. After sharing with fans her divorce from now ex-husband Mike Shay, Scheana shared her egg freezing journey on social media. But after meeting Brock and falling head over heels in love, the couple suffered a miscarriage in June, making this an extra special rainbow baby. “My doctor told me to wait one period and ovulation cycle and then we could try again,” she told People Magazine in October. It was the first and only time we tried and I had a feeling right away, but it was so soon to tell because I wasn’t even close to missing my period yet. I just had a feeling.”

Tom and Ariana are thankful to keep up with their future niece virtually since LA has issued yet another stay at home order due to the coronavirus pandemic, something that is new to Ariana in particular. “If I look at my phone and I’m getting an unplanned FaceTime call, I would normally — No,” Ariana said. “But I feel like I’ve just been missing all of my friends. Me and Scheana FaceTime now. And I feel like if you would’ve asked us a year ago, it would be like, no, we just text or see each other, but now that we can’t, we’re on FaceTime together a lot.”

Although their pals Jax & Brittany recently announced they will not be returning to the show, the couple are staying busy as they wait for the status of season 9 to be revealed. The couple have formed a partnership with Gardenuity as they celebrate the one year anniversary of their Fancy AF Cocktails book (a must-have for the holiday season)! The box includes a signed copy, a complete Cocktail Garden, and a new original cocktail recipe from the couple. It’s available now until the end of the year for $89. And you can feel extra good about your purchase, too: Gardenuity is donating $5 from each box to Open for Good, the James Beard Foundation’s campaign to help restaurants during the global pandemic crisis.
