Let’s be honest: no one will ever be able to recreate the magic that was 1987’s Overboard, starring Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell. However, the first pictures of Anna Faris, 40, filming the upcoming remake reveal that they have totally nailed the casting. Yes, the Overboard remake will be a gender-swap which means it will be Anna’s character who tricks a rich guy, portrayed by Eugenio Derbez, into believing they are married with children. To be honest, we had to do a double take when we first saw the pictures of Anna because she is Goldie’s identical twin. It’s insane! The pictures also reveal our first look at Eva Longoria’s character, Theresa. Eva will reportedly be taking the role of Mike Haggerty. For those who haven’t seen the original Overboard (and you should watch is ASAP), Mike plays Dean’s (Kurt Russell) boyfriend in the film. Since the remake, due out in 2018, is a gender-swap that makes her Anna’s friends in the film this time around! Another drastic change to the film? Anna’s character, Kate, allegedly has three daughters instead of three sons, like Dean did.
