First Lady Melania Trump, 46, showed off two looks in one day when she stepped out at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach to welcome Chinese President Xi Jinping and Madame Peng Liyuan for a formal dinner alongside her hubby, President Donald Trump, at the first event that’s part of a two-day summit at the Trump resort on April 6. It was Melania’s bold red dress that she wore for dinner that really caught our attention — especially because the color is so symbolic.

Melania opted for a Valentino look for the occasion and commanded our attention in the crepe midi dress, which featured red daisy appliques. Not only did the bold color look amazing on the first lady, but it was a symbolic choice, as the color signifies good luck in China — it was an appropriate, welcoming choice. She paired the form-fitting, sleeveless frock with a pair of white floral pointy pumps — I loved the way they complimented the daisy detailing on her dress.

Prior to stepping out in the radiant red hue, Melania was lensed as she touched down in Florida wearing a black-and-white printed midi dress and sunglasses as her frock flowed behind her, which she wore belted, cinching in her waist. She topped off the look with black Christian Louboutin pumps.
