After the devastating death of Louis Tomlinson‘s mom, Johannah Deakin, his ex-girlfriend Briana Jungwirth, 25, has expressed her sadness over the loss. On Dec. 9, Briana posted a series of mournful tweet, sharing her devastation on the death of Johannah.
“My heart aches. Every time I look at Freddie I see you in him Jay,” she wrote. “I will always remember the times we shared and talks we had. I looked up to you and sadly only knowing you for a short time, I aspired to be just like you in a mother to Freddie. I promise to share with him all of what I know of you including all of your beautiful attributes. We both loved you very much. You’ll always stay close forever in our hearts.”

Johannah, who was the grandmother to Louis and Briana’s 11 month old son, Freddie Reign Tomlinson, died on December 7, 2016 at the age of 43 after an aggressive battle with leukemia. When Freddie was born just less than a year ago, Johannah took to Twitter to express her excitement of having a grandchild in a sweet post. “My boy with his boy. Louis & Freddie.” In addition to Freddie and Louis, Johannah left behind Lottie, 18, Felicite, 16, twins Daisy and Phoebe, 12, and twins Ernest and Doris, two. This is truly so heartbreaking.

In addition to Briana’s statement, members of Louis’s former band One Direction have been expressing their sadness and giving support to their friend. On Dec. 9, Zayn Malik responded to a tweet, writing, “Love you bro! All of your family is in my prayers. proud of your strength and know your mum is too x.” That is so sweet.
Former One Directioner Liam Payne’s girlfriend Cheryl Fernandez-Versini also made a statement, writing to Louis on Twitter, “My heart breaks for you. I am so sorry. My thoughts are with you and your loved ones at this incredibly tragic time.”
