Kim Kardashian is back on her app with more beauty tips. The 36-year-old brought in her favorite glam duo, makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic and hairstylist Chris Appleton to break down the mermaid-inspired look she sported in Miami and brought along to fashion month.
“We went for long and sexy hair, but we wanted to keep it very fashion forward so we went for the extreme length and textured ends,” Chris wrote on her app. “We kept the hair super wavy with a crimp like texture, giving us that mermaid vibe.”

To get the look, whether your hair is a Rapunzel-like length like Kim’s or a shorter lob style, Chris divided the look into three simple steps.
1) To bring out the hair’s natural waves for an effortless style, Chris sprayed Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray through Kim’s hair while it was still damp, twisting small sections with his fingers and letting the hair dry.
2) To give the waves definition, Chris used a 1″ curling iron (his was from Hot Tools) and alternated the direction he wrapped the sections around the wand, leaving the ends out for a more natural finish.
3) To complete the look, Chris added a bit of shine to Kim’s waves by misting her hair with Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Dry Oil Finishing Spray.
