Still going strong! Ellen DeGeneres, 58, and Portia de Rossi, 43, are still feeling wedded bliss eight years after tying the knot. To celebrate the occasion, the talk show host took to her Twitter to tell her 61 million followers that the decision was the “Best thing I ever did. #8years #HappyAnniversary.” The message appeared next to a photo of the couple who were all smiles, holding hands while attending a Hollywood event. Ellen is wearing her casual chic of a gray t-shirt, black pants and a patterned jacket while Portia is her usual glam self in a sexy black and white patterned gown.

The pair had been dating since 2004 and tied the knot on Aug. 16, 2008 in an intimate ceremony at their Beverly Hills home shortly after the same-sex marriage ban was overturned in CA. The event was attended by only 19 guests, including Ellen’s beloved mom Betty and Portia’s mom Margaret Rogers as they witnessed the couple exchange personalized handwritten vows. So romantic!
After all these years their bond is still so strong that they gush about each other any chance they get. Scandal star Portia told Entertainment Tonight at the ABC winter TCA party in Jan. that, “We’re just really good friends and we talk about everything, and we never ever, ever lie to each other, like, not even the tiniest lies. And she’s the only person I want to hang out with. Like, she is my best friend and I just want to be with her all the time.” How sweet, no wonder they’ve lasted this long!
