Logic is responsible for one of the most talked-about performances from the 2017 MTV VMAs on Aug. 27, when he performed his suicide awareness anthem ‘1-800-273-8255.’ Here are 5 things to know about him!
Logic, 27, put on a stunning performance of his song “1-800-273-8255” at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards along with Alessia Cara and Khalid, and after you give it a look, read on for everything you need to know about the rapper.
1. His real name is definitely not Logic. His given name is Sir Robert Bryson Hall II, and he’s named after his father, the original Robert Bryson Hall. No word on whether or not his dad is a “sir” too.
2. He’s of mixed race. The original Robert Bryson Hall is of African-American descent from Maryland. Logic’s mother’s identity remains unknown, though it has been reported that she’s caucasian.
3. He ended a 5-year relationship to pursue his career. After being in a romantic relationship for 5 years, Logic ended it all so that he could focus on recording music and making a name for himself. “You can put your everything into a relationship, but that doesn’t mean you’re going to get back what you give. When I created my first mixtape, I realized everything I put in my music — the hours, the lyricism, the time, the grind, pain, sweat, blood, tears — I get it back. I see it,” he once told XXL magazine.
4. He has quite the squad. Logic calls his group the Ratt Pack, and it includes his manager, Chris, 6ix, and a friend named Big Lenbo. Sounds like a good time, right?
