1. Johnny wasn’t a full time cast member on RHONJ, but his appearances were memorable.

Johnny was in the same circle of friends as RHONJ stars Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga. His most memorable appearance was when he got into a fight with Christopher Laurita and Joe Gorga.

2. Johnny and his wife owned a hair salon in New Jersey.

Johnny, along with his wife, Penny, owned a Fair Lawn hair salon that was visited by RHONJ stars Teresa and Kim DePaola. Johnny also co-owned the hot dog joint Rutt’s Hut.

3. He filed a civil lawsuit against Bravo and NBC in 2013.

He filed the lawsuit after a brawl went down at the opening of cast member Kim’s store, Porshe 2, in Paramus, New Jersey. Johnny claimed he suffered “serious medical injuries” as a result of the fight.

4. The lawsuit was prompted after a fight between Johnny and Melissa Gorga’s husband.

Joe confronted Johnny about comments he allegedly made against Melissa. This fight was shown on RHONJ. After criminal charges were brought against him, Johnny said the show’s producers planned the fight, according to New York Daily News.

Before his death, Johnny working on launching a show called Legend’s Road. The show would follow “young athletes of different ages, ranging from middle school to high school, training for their upcoming season in different strength and conditioning schools,” he said in an interview.
