1. He’s a good cook and a great babysitter. In December 2013, Brie thanked Alex during her acceptance speech at the IFP Gotham Awards, saying, “And I’d like to thank my boyfriend, Alex Greenwald, for making me pasta and taking care of our puppy while I made this movie.” So sweet!

2. Alex is a musician, who was part of the rock band, Phantom Planet. They were a big deal in the 2000s, and the band actually produced “California,” which served as the theme song for Fox’s The O.C.

3. He’s extremely supportive. After her win at the 2016 SAG Awards, Brie talked to Entertainment Tonight about her supportive boyfriend, saying, “Oh man, I mean, he’s the other half of the equation — how can you explain support? I mean, it goes beyond anything. He’s just my person, he’s my best friend.”

4. Alex has done more than just music. He’s also a former model for The Gap and has acted in the past. He made an appearance in Donnie Darko.

5. Alex’s mom is largely responsible for his musical education. “Music has just always been part of my life. My mom is a guitar teacher and an abstract painter – an all-around artist and a wonderful woman. I would listen to records with her and take guitar lessons from her. Music has been an appendage almost. It speaks my language,” he once said, according to Wikipedia.
