Nickelodeon is working on the revival series with the show’s original creator, Emily Kapnek, on board as executive producer, according to Movie Pilot. The show will pick up after the events of the last episode, “The Wedding Frame,” and center on Ginger’s high school life.
The revival show will be changed to fit Nickelodeon’s current audience. “You have to remember people who are going to watch really don’t have a recollection of As Told By Ginger. You have to make it relevant to them but also nod to the audience that is going to be interested.” Russell Hicks and Chris Viscardi told the outlet.
This means that Ginger’s friends Darren Patterson, Dodie Bishop and Macie Lightfoot will all be back for fun and games with Ginger. And we can’t wait to see what shenanigans Carl has in store. Ginger’s relationship with her mother, Lois, was always a highlight in the series.
As Told By Ginger joins the long list of TV reboots. Fellow Nickelodeon series Hey Arnold! is getting a new TV movie soon. Twin Peaks, Full House, The X-Files and more are also getting the revival treatment! Until As Told By Ginger returns to our TV screens, we’ll just be blasting the theme song on repeat.
