“They are different people because Justin made it that way. He continued to push her away time after time and then when she didn’t come back the way she usually would after his ‘My Girl’ stunt he could tell that he lost her. He pushed her away too much and now they just have memories,” a source revealed to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “He loves what was and not what their relationship is now. They both have moved on and can’t hold onto the magic they once had. They both have finally started realizing it. It is what it is — they won’t ever get back officially again.”
As much as we don’t want to believe it, Jelena really is donezo. It’s almost hard to believe we have to come to terms with this as 2016 begins, because just two months ago Justin was serenading Selena in Beverly Hills with one of the sweetest tunes in the love song book: “My Girl.” But even Justin admitted in a new interview that their reunion was short lived, and the chances of another rekindling are slim.
“We were on and off for years and we left on good terms, so I think we just needed time to grow for ourselves and we’re like, ‘maybe we’ll come back together in the future.’ And it ended up being so long and we just grew apart and we’re just not the same people anymore,” he told The Bert Show. “We’ll hang out and I’ll see her every now and then and we’ll talk, and that’s pretty much it.”
It’s not just another “back on” instance that’s off the table, though — Selena said herself that she’s totally “done” talking about Justin period! While Justin could take that as a major diss, Sel’s harsh words probably don’t phase The Biebs these days, because things are heating up with Hailey Baldwin! He even posted a pic making out with Hailey on their romantic getaway, which could be his way of declaring he’s done with his ex too!
Even if it seems like shade is being thrown, both Sel and JB have confessed that they love each other and always will thanks to the history they have together. They may never actually get back together, but Jelena will forever remain in Justin and Selena’s hearts — and ours too!
