Lisa Rinna’s Apology For Swastika On Harry Hamlin’s Halloween Costume – Hollywood Life

Lisa Rinna & Harry Hamlin Apologize For Offensive Swastika Halloween Costume

Lisa Rinna wants you to know that she and husband Harry Hamlin are really sorry for his disturbing Halloween costume, which featured the 'Mad Men' star wearing a swastika t-shirt. His Sid Vicious get-up was an attempt to be 'authentic,' but instead it was just offensive. Lisa Rinna, 52, is apologizing on behalf of herself and hubby Harry Hamlin, 64, after their "Sid and Nancy" Sex Pistols Halloween costumes were a little too real. Harry wore a red t-shirt with a swastika on it, which Sid Vicious wore in old photos. While Sid wasn't an anti-Semite, he wore the shirt to be anti-establishment and purposefully offensive. But Harry's no young punk rocker from the '70s, and he's now learned how much that symbol doesn't play in this day and age.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star put out an apology via her Instagram on Nov. 2, stating “If I hurt you, (sorry said with a heart emoji). We were being authentic to the characters of Sid and Nancy for our Halloween costumes. It hurt and angered many of you and we are deeply sorry for that. That was never our intention. We did not mean to offend. With love, Lisa and Harry.”

The couple raised plenty of eyebrows at  George Clooney‘s Oct. 30 Casamigos party in Los Angeles. Dressed as the late Sid Vicious of the Sex Pistols and his girlfriend Nancy Spungen, Harry and Lisa were practically a spitting image of the couple. They were modeled after an old photograph of the couple where Sid was wearing a red t-shirt with a swastika emblazoned on it. But Sid wore plenty of offensive t-shirts back in the day, including ones bashing the British monarchy. In this and day and age, Harry should have known how anything involving such a polarizing image could be viewed as deeply offensive.

After photos of the couple surfaced, Twitter outrage ensued with people calling out the Mad Men star for his poor choice in his Sid look. Outside of the offending tee, the couple nailed their costumes with Lisa in a giant blond wig and head to toe black clothes, with leather pants and a jacket. Harry wore a black leather jacket as well, matched with black boots and jeans. He even spiked his hair and had a cigarette dangling out of his mouth to portray the late punk legend. But it was the swastika t-shirt that got the ire of his fans.

HollywoodLifers, were you offended by Harry’s swastika t-shirt?
