The Lost actress and her husband were awaiting the arrival of their son in early Nov. when they received the most devastating the news. “We regretfully confirm that Zach Gilford and Kiele Sanchez recently lost their child to a late-term miscarriage,” the couple’s rep told People. “No additional details will be made available. We thank everyone in advance for their sensitivity and discretion during this difficult time.” We are absolutely heartbroken for the couple.
Kiele excitedly revealed she was pregnant in Aug. 2014 as she walked the red carpet with a growing baby bump at the Television Critics Association press tour. “I am playing a woman who is pretty detached from the thing that’s growing inside her, and I couldn’t be more excited about my pregnancy,” she told reporters while promoting her show Kingdom. “So when I slip into [my character] Lisa, I’m at odds with this thing down here.”
The 37-year-old went on to talk about how odd it is to play a character who isn’t emotionally connected to the child growing inside of her whereas in real life, Kiele couldn’t be happier. “It’s something that I think that she, at certain points, really questions her decision to keep it, which couldn’t be further from my own life,” she said. “So it’s a weird, strange, strange thing, especially when he (her unborn child) kicks during a scene, you have to go on as if this thing didn’t just move inside your body. So it’s bizarre.”
Zach and Kiele said “I Do” in Dec. 2012 after being together for two years. The couple first met back in 2010 while they both co-starred in an ABC pilot called The Matadors.
