Wilmer may have stolen Demi’s heart years ago, but it seems that wasn’t always the case. The former Disney star got candid in a new interview with Alan Carr, when he asked her about her smash single “Cool for the Summer.” [jwplatform 4uiIMc0T]
Mainly, he wanted to discuss the lyrics, because he noticed the track hints towards lesbianism — “Tell me what you want, what you like, it’s ok / I’m a little curious, too” and also the line, “Got a taste for the cherry / I just need to take a bite.” If you haven’t been listening to the radio, you can snag the track here!
“I am not confirming and I’m definitely not denying,” Demi in turn replied. “All of my songs are based off of personal experiences. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with experimentation at all.” She went on to say, “If a very popular male artist in one of his songs came out and said, ‘I’m experimenting,’ — if a guy sang this song that was straight — it would be such an uproar.”
Demi also stated, “But there’s a confidence to a man that would say, ‘I’ve experimented with a man,’ and not care. I actually find that more attractive than saying, ‘No, no, no, that’s so wrong!'”
You go girl! We love how open she is about personal topics. The host — who is openly gay, also joked and said he “experimented once and it stuck.” Demi had no problem admitting, “Hey, I didn’t say it didn’t stick either.” Whoa — amazing. Listen here!
