‘Scream’: Riley Dies — Season 1 Episode 3 Recap – Hollywood Life

‘Scream’ Recap: The Killer Plays A Twisted Game With Emma & [SPOILER] Dies

Everyone knows that in order to survive a horror movie (or TV show, in this case), you can't have sex. If you do it, you die. Sadly, one character didn't know any better on the July 14 episode of 'Scream.' After a hot make out session, with lots of dry humping, [SPOILER] died. On the July 14 episode of Scream, the killer forced Emma (Willa Fitzgerald) to choose between two of her friends -- the good girl and the bad girl. And even though she thought she figured out a way to save both, the killer brutally murdered [SPOILER].

Riley (Brianne Tju) died! We still can’t believe it. She was so innocent and so nice. And Noah (John Karna) liked her so much. He’s going to be so heartbroken, especially after she left him with blue balls once she thought Tyler (Max Lloyd-Jones) texted her.

But that’s not all that happened this week. Emma finally learned the truth about her mom’s connection to Brandon James while rummaging through old police files with Kieran (Amadeus Serafini). They got paired up for a class assignment, but instead of actually working on it, they used their time to flirt and snoop. Once she confronted Maggie (Tracy Middendorf) about her true identity as Daisy, Emma revealed that she’s been getting creepy phone calls and texts from a stalker. But they didn’t have much time to process those revelations because Riley allegedly got a text from Tyler, who’s been missing since Nina’s (Bella Thorne) death.

Everyone still thinks he might be responsible for murdering her, as well as Rachel (Sosie Bacon), so the sheriff (Jason Wiles) tried luring him to a park restroom, where they had a Riley lookalike waiting. Unbeknownst to them, it was really the killer using Tyler’s phone (we already know Tyler’s dead). When a mysterious man showed up, he was quickly tackled by police. Once they discovered it wasn’t Tyler, the man said he was paid to deliver a message, which said, “nice try.”

Meanwhile, Emma tried getting answers about Rachel’s murder from the killer, via text. But he or she just wanted to continue playing games. When Emma said she was tired of his or her shenanigans, the killer said he’d just move on to her friends. And that’s when the killer started to play a twisted game. He separated Brooke (Carlson Young) and Riley, thanks to some mysterious text messages, and then asked Emma which one she’d save — the bad girl or the good girl. Thinking that Riley was safe at the police station (she was trying to help them catch Tyler), she begged the killer not to hurt Brooke, who was waiting in an empty hotel room for Seth (Bobby Campo). As Riley waited in the police station alone, she got a text from Tyler’s phone, which asked her to meet him out back. Once she got there, she was greeted by the killer who chased her down an alley and up a fire escape. Riley tried outrunning the killer, but he or she stabbed her enough times to kill her. Riley bled to death on the roof of the police station as she was on a FaceTime call with Noah (John Karna). How tragic. And once back at the station, Emma discovered Riley’s lifeless body.

Also worth noting — Will (Connor Weil) and Jake (Tom Maden) are still talking about a weird project they were involved in with Nina and Tyler. All we know is that it earned them a lot of money, which Will has now hidden, and it’s a secret big enough to make Will consider killing Jake. (Did you see that knife?!)
