Dr. Dubrow and Dr. Nassif were actually afraid to take on Farrah’s case after she slammed her previous doctor on social media for her swollen lips, even though it wasn’t his fault. “It appears that the doctor did nothing wrong,” Dr. Nassif told the cameras. “He did all the right treatment. He went to the hospital to see her, but Farrah got on her social media and boom. It was horrible.”
In January 2015, Farrah shared pictures of her swollen lips on Twitter after her first attempt to have surgery went terribly wrong. “My body had an extreme reverse reaction,” she said. Her lips actually swelled after she was injected with a numbing agent, before the procedure had even started.
But that wasn’t enough to scare Farrah. She met with Dr. Dubrow and Dr. Nassif shortly after her lip fillers scare. “I realized fillers don’t last forever, so I wanted to look into a permanent lip implant,” Farrah, who has already had two breast augmentations, rhinoplasty and a chin implant, explained.

During her consultation on Botched, Dr. Dubrow explained to Farrah that her doctor had done nothing wrong and the reaction she had suffered was known as tachyphylaxis. He then said she would likely continue to suffer the same kind of reaction to fillers in the future. They also refused to touch her lips, as there was still fluid leaking out of them. In their opinion, further surgery could cause permanent damage.
But when Farrah was asked if she was going to continue getting lip injections, she said, “Practice is making it perfect.”
“Farrah truly dodged a bullet,” Dr. Dubrow said of her allergic reaction. “It was like nature’s way of saying to her: ‘Do not have this operation.’ It was not meant to be.”
Hopefully, Farrah takes her doctors’ advice.
