Hair Trend To Try: The Middle Parted Low Bun Seen On Vanessa Hudgens

We love an updo that can be dressed up or down, and apparently so do celebrities. The middle parted low bun look has been favored by celebrities like Vanessa Hudgens and Emmy Rossum, who have proven there's no wrong way to style the hair trend. If you've ever struggled with how to style your hair in the unbearable heat or humid rain during the summer, look no further. Celebs like Vanessa Hudgens have you covered with the simple (but decidedly stylish) center part, low knot. Check out the many ways to try the trend.

If you’re going for an easy, classic look, start with Vanessa’s slicked back low bun from the CFDA Awards. Even if you have a short bob like Vanessa, you can get the look by parting your hair down the middle and using Bumble and Bumble Gel to slick your hair back into the tiniest knot at the nape of your neck.

If your hair is on the longer side, copy Kim Kardashian’s style for her July Glamour cover. You’ll still want to use a gel or strong-hold hairspray to get the tightly pulled back and parted look, but opt for a low ponytail instead.

For a slightly more undone look, copy the textured low bun model Coco Rocha wore to the CFDA Awards. Hairstylist David Cruz added two face-framing curls to add a softer finish to the sleek look.

Meanwhile, Brittany Snow went for a more relaxed vibe by leaving loose pieces in the front and tucking them behind her ears. You can copy Brittany and twist pieces into a knot, or get really creative and add mini braids for a full-on boho vibe that’s perfect for music festivals and beach days.

For even more low bun fun, copy Emmy Rossum‘s accessorized look. Hairstylist Christopher Naselli added some sparkle to Emmy’s knot with a Swarovski crystal hair piece — create a similar effect with Henri Bendel Square Crystal Comb.
