Selena Gomez Weight Gain: She Isn’t Afraid To Confront Fat Shamers
We all know that Selena is seriously stunning — no matter what size she is. The former Disney darling has embraced her sexy new curves and is proud to put them on display, despite what people are saying about her body. While haters continue to criticize Selena’s fuller frame online, what they don’t understand is that she is unable to control her weight.
“This is beyond Selena’s control. Her weight fluctuates because of the corticosteroids she takes to treat her Lupus,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “Her weight gain is not her fault.”
While the “I Want You To Know” singer isn’t letting body bullies win, she is still human. And the hateful comments do sting.
“[Selena] says it’s beyond frustrating and unimaginably hurtful when people blame the added weight to her eating junk food and not working out,” the source explains. “She says haters need to wake-up and get a clue.”
Yes, indeed! And until they do, Selena isn’t afraid to defend herself.
“She will continue to stick up for herself and confront the bullies. She feels like she represents a lot of young women who struggle with the same issues,” the source adds.
Selena Gomez Blasts Hater Who Tells Her To ‘Work Out’ & ‘Stop Eating Junk Food’
Instagram user laurenvb094 offered her unsolicited opinion about Selena’s appearance at WE Day Illinois in a mean comment on one of Selena’s photos.
She said,“mmm…@selenagomez you need to work out! Please stop eating junk food!” The user continued with, “She is not curvy at all…..shes an actress she needs to tone her body, in the business sadly the image its important i’m just saying that she needs to work thats nothing wrong with that.”
Selena did not leave Lauren’s remark unchecked — as she shouldn’t have!
She retorted, “You’re disgusting. IM IN the business and I could care less about what ‘they’ or you say I should look like. I don’t need to do anything other than love myself, take care of my work, fans, family and friends… And I do work out. It’s not your place to tell anyone what they should or should not do.”
You tell her, girl!
