‘Pretty Little Liars’: Mona’s Alive — Why It’s The Best ‘PLL’ Twist Yet – Hollywood Life

‘Pretty Little Liars’: [SPOILER]’s Return Was The Best Twist Ever

I'm still trying to process that epic twist on the 'Pretty Little Liars' finale. No, not the big 'A' reveal. I'm talking about [SPOILER]'s shocking return! Click to find out who's back in the game! Season five of Pretty Little Liars went out with a bang. On top of the big "A" reveal, we were gifted with the return of a fan-favorite character. Seriously, I got goosebumps when [SPOILER] was revealed under that creepy mask in "A"'s dollhouse. This was the best twist the show has dished out in a long time, and I'm going to tell you all why!

‘Pretty Little Liars’: Mona’s Alive — The Best ‘PLL’ Twist Yet

Yep, Mona’s back! The sassy munchkin we all thought had died a gruesome death in the midseason finale is alive and well.

When the girls came upon a girl dress exactly like Alison (Sasha Pieterse) on the night she disappeared, no one likely thought it was Mona (Janel Parrish) under that mask. I thought it was definitely CeCe (Vanessa Ray) because of the blonde hair. I was so wrong.

Honestly, Mona not being dead is bigger than the big “A” reveal. I’m kind of disappointed that it’s Charles. We’ve spent five seasons wondering who “A” really is, and it’s someone we’ve never even heard of. I’m sure the PLL writers have something huge planned, but I just expected more.

Everyone, including myself, was completely blindsided and devastated when Mona was “killed.” No one wanted to see her or Janel Parrish go. Over the course of Pretty Little Liars, Mona became one of my favorite characters. She’s spunky, smart and a badass. Plus, Mona and Mike are the cutest couple. I can’t wait to see them reunite.

After her “death,” something just felt missing on PLL. The show needed Mona back. I’d put her in equal ranks with Hanna (Ashley Benson), Alison, Emily (Shay Mitchell), Spencer (Troian Bellisario) and Aria (Lucy Hale). The show had been peeling back the layers on Mona for seasons, and the way her character was fleshed out was genius. Bringing her back was the best thing the show’s done possibly ever. Yeah, I’m going there.

However, there’s just a one big question that needs to be answered. If Mona’s alive, then whose pale, lifeless body was the person we thought was Mona? Could Mona have a twin, too?

I’m dying to see where the show goes from here. With Mona back in the fold, it’s going to be one hell of a ride.

Before I go, I’m going to detail my reaction to the Mona twist. And it’s all going to be in gifs. You’re welcome. See below:
