‘Empire’: Lucious Is The Father Of Olivia’s Daughter – Hollywood Life

‘Empire’ Baby Shocker: Are Olivia & Lola Gone For Good?

On the Mar. 11 episode of 'Empire,' a shocking confession revealed the truth about Olivia's baby bombshell-- but does the news mean she and little Lola will be leaving the Lyons for good? We are still completely shocked by Lucious' (Terrence Howard) confession on the Mar. 11 episode of Empire that he was actually the father of Olivia's (Raven-Symone) young daughter. The entire scene had us gasping up until the moment that someone was shot and didn't make it out alive. Now that the truth is out, after years of lying to Jamal (Jussie Smollett), will Olivia and Lola (Leah Jeffries) be permanently banned from the Lyons den?

‘Empire’: Lucious Is The Father

Well, we certainly didn’t see that one coming.

Following the admission from Lucious that he fathered Olivia’s child, the full blown family brawl ended with a gunshot to Olivia’s abusive boyfriend’s head. Now safe from his threat, the episode sees the former Mrs. Lyon (well, one of them) and her daughter saying good bye. However, don’t expect Olivia to stay buried forever now that the baby daddy bombshell has been exposed.

“I think we definitely have to show why Olivia and Jamal have a connection anyway that would make Lucious want them to marry each other,” Raven told The Hollywood Reporter about her character’s future on the show. “I don’t think it would be Empire if they didn’t talk about it, but there is nothing set in concrete yet.”

‘Olivia Came Back To Save Her Daughter’

When Olivia first showed up–with a young daughter in tow!– we were absolutely shocked to learn that the little girl was Jamal’s from when he slept with Olivia before coming out. On the most recent episode though, we got a whole lotta new information.

So, why did Olivia return to the Lyons’ lives, knowing that both Lola’s existence and who her father is could tear the family apart? Well, it turns out she had very concrete ulterior motives.

“Olivia came back to save her daughter,” Raven said. “She wouldn’t have come back if her boyfriend didn’t find her.”

So intense.

What did you think of the fact that Lucious is Lola’s father? Do you want to see Olivia back in future episodes of Empire?
