Kristen Stewart In ‘Twilight’: Slams Critics In ‘Interview’ Magazine

“Anybody who wants to talk s*** about Twilight, I completely get it, but there’s something there that I’m endlessly, and to this day, proud of,” Kristen told Patti, according to Us Weekly. “My memory of it felt — still feels — really good.”

We think it’s great Kristen can look back at Twilight as a positive experience — and as something she’s proud of! In fact, Kristen’s role as human-turned-vampire Bella Swan in Twilight was her breakthrough role, which jumpstarted her movie career. Unfortunately, Stephenie Meyer‘s vampire franchise didn’t resonate well with critics who criticized Kristen and costar Robert Pattinson‘s acting, but it certainly hasn’t stopped her from landing other coveted roles!

“I’m always asked about what type of things I want to do, and if I make decisions based on my last project,” Kristen continued. “Say I do a big franchise movie about a vampire that falls in love with a normal girl. It’s like, ‘Now do you want to show them that you can be a real, serious actor?’ It’s like, ‘Was I not being a real, serious actor?'”

Clearly, she takes every role seriously, as actors should. Kristen has now gone on to star in critically acclaimed films such as Still Alice and Clouds of Sils Maria, but she doesn’t think those roles are any more important than her work in Twilight.

“Every movie that I’ve done, they don’t stand independently from one another because a little bit of me is in every single one of those, and it’s part of my own personal growth,” she continued. “I can’t say that Twilight doesn’t have anything to do with Still Alice and Sils Maria. They have everything to do with each other. They are who I am.”

Way to go, Kristen!
