This is such a tragedy. Greg Plitt, a renowned fitness instructor, model and actor, was struck and killed by a train on Jan. 17. The fitness guru was filming an ad for a protein shake at the time of his death, a report claims. He was only 37. Greg Plitt, 37, was tragically killed by a Metrolink train in Burbank, Calif. on Jan. 17. He was a former Calvin Klein model who became a well known fitness instructor. He recently starred in the Bravo show Work Out and had an appearance on the upcoming reality series Friends to Lovers.

Greg Plitt Dead: Fitness Instructor & Actor Killed By Train

Greg was struck by the train just after 4:00 p.m. on Front Street, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Transit Services Bureau said, according to our sister site Variety.

He was with friends who may have been taking videos at the time of the accident, according to KABC. A friend says he was filming an ad for a protein shake, Daily Mail reports.  

“He had on all black. The train went by. I saw him stumble over the tracks. He had a camcorder in his hand,” a Metrolink passenger told KABC.

The tragic accident is currently under investigation.

In addition to Calvin Klein, Greg had modeled for Under Armour, Old Navy Jeans, Modell’s and more. He appeared on countless magazine covers, including Maxim, American Health & Fitness, Flaunt, Men’s Fitness, Muscle & Fitness and Men’s Health. 

He had a small role in 2013’s Grudge Match, alongside Sylvester Stallone and Robert De Niro. His muscular physique was used in CGI to help create Dr. Manhattan’s body in the 2009 film Watchmen.

Greg had starred in TV commercials for Old Spice Body Wash, ESPN, Under Armour, MTV, Gold’s Gym and Bowflex.

Greg was a certified personal trainer. He trained his clients out of Los Angeles.

The episode of Bravo’s Friends to Lovers featuring Greg airs Jan. 19.
