Ohio State led throughout the game, though Oregon did their best to play catch up. Alas, the Buckeyes overcame four turnovers thanks to star running back Ezekiel Elliot, who ran an impressive 246 yards during the game.

The Buckeyes saw a masterful performance from third string quarterback Cardale Jones as well. When the game was 21-20 with the Buckeyes winning by 1, Ezekiel scored a 75-yard touchdown to push their lead to eight, which pretty much secured their victory.

Heisman Trophy winner, Marcus Mariota didn’t disappoint the Ducks, despite their loss. He was on top of his game but didn’t have the offense support, especially in the beginning, which cost the team points.

This is Ohio State coach Urban Meyer‘s third national title, making him one of the most respected coaches in college football. The Buckeyes’ win marks their eighth National Championship title, their first since 2002.
