Idina Menzel & Taye Diggs Secretly Divorce One Year After Split

Idina has let her marriage go. One year after their public split, Idina and Taye secretly ended their 10 year marriage and are now officially divorced, according to a new report. Idina Menzel, 43, and Taye Diggs, 44, called it quits on their marriage after they announced their split in December 2013. However, the couple didn't take any divorce action until nearly one year later, finalizing the divorce in December 2014 after 10 years of marriage.

Taye Diggs & Idina Menzel Divorce: Couple Secretly Ends Marriage After Split

Idina and Taye may have broken up one year ago, but they took their time at getting a divorce. Taye filed the divorce petition in New York in November 2014, according to a report by TMZ. By December 3, the divorce was finalized.

They sorted out all issues, including custody of their five-year-old son, Walker, along with divvying up assets. The divorce has reportedly remained as friendly as possible, as the couple are putting their differences aside to continue to raise Walker together, a source tells the site.

While we’re sad their marriage is ending, the divorce seemed to be pretty smooth-sailing, and we’re glad they can put their son’s best interest at heart and remain on peaceful terms with one another.

Taye and Idina, who met while co-starring in the original production of the Broadway musical Rent in 1996, reportedly went their separate ways due to Taye’s alleged cheating. It didn’t take long for Taye to flaunt his new relationship months after their split with new girlfriend, Amanza Smith Brown.

The Private Practice actor brought Amanza to the BET Awards at Los Angeles’ Nokia Theatre on June 29, 2014, and his PDA with her showed he had officially moved on from the “Let It Go” singer.
