You can easily throw a vest on over skinny jeans and a tee if you want to give your casual look a fall-ready feel. When you want to rock a vest but still need a coat to stay warm, I recommend opting for a cropped vest. Instead of wearing it underneath your coat and looking totally bulky, fasten it over your coat and it’ll look like you’re sporting brand new outerwear! When you get inside, you can remove the coat but put the vest back on for a fashionable look.

If you are wearing a vest with leggings or jeans, don’t be afraid to make a major statement with a long vest. If you want to keep warm, layer it over a cozy turtleneck or a cropped sweater — this look is all about playing with proportions.

Once you select a vest, the options are endless. Not only does it look great casual but you can also throw it on over a dress or wear it with a maxi skirt for a fierce boho babe vibe.
