Doctors Discover Baby Boy Growing Inside Woman During Ovary Removal

This is one scary story that has a very happy ending.

After months of mysterious stomach pain, Rebecca’s doctors believed they had ruled out every possibility — including pregnancy. The mother of one had undergone a slew of different tests, including three body scans, two blood tests, and six different pregnancy tests.

Doctors finally determined that they believed her ovaries were the cause, and that they needed to be removed in order to relieve her pain and discomfort. That’s when they found something they were not expecting at all — a baby boy!

Once the made the discovery, surgeons woke Rebecca up on the operating table to tell her the good news. Not only had they found a baby boy inside of her, but he was perfectly healthy.

“I was facing not being able to have any more children because they thought there were problems with my ovaries, and all of a sudden we had a son,” the New Zealand mother told the Herald.

Rebecca had given birth to a daughter, Hayley, just 20 months before doctors delivered her son, James.

“I am so glad they woke me and told me I was going to have another baby. Even though it was short notice it was better than waking up and being handed a baby,” Rebecca explained to the outlet.

According to the Daily Mail, 1-in-600 mothers-to-be are unaware they are pregnant until they give birth. Crazy!
