Katharine McPhee Divorce — Actress Files After Affair With ‘Smash’ Director
So sad! The American Idol finalist and star of the upcoming series Scorpion has decided to officially pull the plug on her marriage to her husband and former manager, Nick. The divorce may seem sudden, but the couple, who wed in 2008, had actually been separated for the past year. Katharine’s rep confirmed the sad news to People magazine on May 22.
“After six years of marriage, and having been separated for the past year, Katharine McPhee has filed for a dissolution of marriage from Nick Cokas,” her rep told People. “The two have an amicable relationship and will remain friends. They ask that people respect their privacy during this time.”
Katharine McPhee Involved In Affair With ‘Smash’ Director
While Katharine and Nick were dealing with their marriage troubles, Katharine was caught kissing Smash director Michael Morris in broad daylight in October of 2013. Katharine and Nick were separated at the time but Michael was (and still is) married to actress Mary McCormack.
After that public display of affection between the star and her director, Katharine and Nick decided to give their marriage one more chance, a friend of the couple told People at the time. Unfortunately it didn’t quite work out between the two.
We’re so sad to see Katharine and Nick split but it sounds like it’s for the best. We wish them well during this trying time.
