Lauren Silverman & Simon Cowell Baby Born — Couple Welcomes Baby Boy

Lauren, 38, went into labor a week and a half early, in the wee morning hours of Feb. 14. She checked into Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, in anticipation of the latest addition to her family. However, her beau Simon, 54, had to charter a private jet from London in order to make the birth on time! The X Factor mogul had been overseas holding auditions for Britain’s Got Talent.

Lauren must have been so relieved that Simon made it to New York in time. Eric was born at 5:45 p.m. EST and weighed in at 6 pounds, 7 ounces, Simon’s rep tells Us Weekly.

HollywoodLife.com spoke with Simon EXCLUSIVELY in December and he revealed why he’s finally ready to be a father at 54.

“I don’t think I would have been a great dad at the age of twenty. But now, I have Squiddly and Diddly [his dogs] and I’ve trained them … actually, they’re not trained at all. Actually, now that I think about it, they’re the worst behaved dogs in Beverly Hills,” Simon quipped before adding, “No, I’ll be a good dad and Lauren will be a great mom.” We’re sure they will!

Simon Cowell Will Do Parenting His Own Way

Though Simon admitted he was making adjustments for the new baby on Ellen, he says he’s still set on making his own rules as a parent. He admitted to the Times of London that he will not be changing his stoic ways. “I can assure you, I won’t go soft,” Simon said.

In another interview with BBC, Simon admitted that he will not be on diaper duty.”I’m not doing that, 100 percent absolutely not going near that!”

What do YOU think, HollyMoms? Will Simon be a good dad? Let us know!
