Gabrielle Union Blames Herself For Dwyane Wade Split, Love Child

The 'Being Mary Jane' actress spoke out about her relationship with her fiancé, Dwyane Wade, for the first time in an interview since news broke he fathered a child with an ex while they were broken up. Gabrielle admitted she more career-focused than relationship-driven, and now she wants to focus on their family. Gabrielle Union revealed in a new interview that her brief split with now fiancé Dwyane Wade came at a time when she was prioritizing her acting career over their relationship. During their split, Dwyane had a baby with his ex, Aja Metoyer, and now the possibly pregnant Gabrielle confessed she only blames herself for putting a strain on their love.

Gabrielle identified that the “original issue” of her brief split with Dwyane was she was putting her career first, she told Glamour.

Gabrielle Union’s New Role

“[When Dwyane and I broke up briefly in 2013], it was because of distance and scheduling,” Gabrielle, 41, told Glamour. “I finished filming the show, then I flew to Vegas right away to start shooting Think Like a Man Too. I couldn’t take time off, and I missed some quality togetherness we desperately needed.”

“Over the summer, I reassessed priorities. I’d always wanted an awesome career with back-to-back projects, but I realized I wasn’t willing to sacrifice my relationship for it,” Gabrielle admitted. “Moving forward, I decided my work schedule has to make sense for our family.”

Gabi accepted Dwyane and Aya’s son, Xavier Zachariah Wade, now 1 month old, and seems happier than ever in her relationship.

Gabrielle Union Expecting Dwyane Wade’s Baby?

The latest buzz from Gabi and Dwyane’s relationship is that the pair, who got engaged in Dec. 2013, are expecting a child together. “Gabby and her fiancé Dwyane have been open about having children, and now that a wedding is around the corner, now is as good a time as ever,” a source told MediaTakeOut, revealing friends suspect she is already pregnant.
