Two of the three students shot were taken to University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Mercy Hospital and one was taken to Allegheny General Hospital on the North Side.

One student was found in the school gymnasium.

Diane Richard of Pittsburgh Police gave a press conference, explaining that one of the victims were grazed in the leg or foot, one was shot in the neck or shoulder, and one was grazed in the head.

The one grazed in the head, which appears to be the one that a student had seen — made his way back to the school and pulled back in by administrators. This is how the authorities found out about the shooting taking place outside. Diane also added that all of the students are in good to stable condition, and are not cooperated with the police.

The city is told to stay inside their homes while the police search the city for the shooter(s) on the loose.

The school superintendent, Linda Lane released the following statement:

Although the incident did not occur on school property, Pittsburgh South Hills 6-8 and Pittsburgh Brashear High School were placed on a modified lock down and later dismissed on schedule. Both Brashear and South Hills will be open tomorrow but will be secured on modified lockdown for the remainder of the week. A modified lockdown means that only students, staff, and visitors with a scheduled appointment will be able to enter the school building.

We are taking this matter seriously and focusing on the safety of our students. Our thoughts go out to the families of the victims.

We will continue to update with more details as they come in.
