Bruce didn't get an invite to Kanye West's proposal to Kim Kardashian because it was being filmed for 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians,' and it would have been 'weird for continuity' if he had attended after separating from Kris Jenner. Bruce Jenner, 63, wanted his distance from Kris Jenner, 57, and all of the Kardashian drama, and it looks like he's getting his wish. Kris doesn't want Bruce to walk his stepdaughter Kim Kardashian, 33, down the aisle this time around, and because of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, he wasn't even invited to Kim and Kanye West's lavish engagement party at San Francisco's AT&T Stadium on Oct. 21! Bruce Jenner Not At Kim Kardashian’s Engagement Party? — Why He Wasn’t Invited

No one knows better than Bruce that Keeping Up with the Kardashians takes precedence over pretty much everything — even family.

“Since Kris and Bruce are separated and they are using it for the show, it would have been weird for continuity to have Bruce at the engagement party,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “At the end of the day, it’s all about the show and they filmed the engagement party for the show.”

“They can’t have the show start talking about the relationship being bad and then have them being together the next second,” the source adds. “This is also the reason Lamar Odom wasn’t there. They are filming the drama and don’t want to mix things up.”

We understand that the show needs to run smoothly, but it seems pretty harsh to leave Bruce, who has been a father to Kim for most of her life, out of the festivities.

“At the end of the day, Kris is gearing her life towards the show and will do anything to make that work, even affecting real-life scenarios in her relationships and her children’s relationships,” our source says. “She is and has been jaded by the entire process.”

It seems like Kris really will do anything for Keeping Up with the Kardashians. She and Bruce have even decided to postpone their divorce until after the show ends in 2015 — and it’s all for the sake of a storyline, according to a report from Radar Online.

“No one would watch if there wasn’t drama. Separation leaves it up in the air and will make viewers want to tune in,” a source told Radar. “But once it’s over, it will be over for the marriage too — once and for all.”
