One Direction's Zayn Malik was surprised with an Incredible Hulk themed cake for his 21st birthday from fiancee Perrie Edwards. The pop star is a big fan of super heroes from Marvel Comics and Little Mix singer Perrie chose a design of the Hulk's hand bursting through the top of his cake. It is thought Zayn celebrated his birthday at Perrie's parents' home in Weymouth, Dorset, as the cake was ordered from a shop near to their house. A relation of the Little Mix performer called into Arty Party Cakes and told staff that Zayn was a fan of Marvel Comics. Ian Gill, owner of the shop, came up with the intricate design for the cake and had the idea to create it in the shape of a huge fist. Ian also baked 24 cupcakes decorated to look like Wolverine and the Incredible Hulk when they were placed next to each other.

UPDATE: One Direction’s rep confirmed the engagement and said, “Zayn and Perrie are engaged, but any further detail regarding their relationship is private.”

“It was so romantic – Zayn popped the question over the weekend when they were alone together,” a source told The Mirror.

“It’s one of the first weekends they’ve spent with each other, as they’ve both been on tours with their bands. He wanted to wait for the perfect moment,” the insider added. “All of [Perrie’s] bandmates were at V Festival, and she couldn’t wait to tell them. They’re all really excited for her, as the rest of One Direction are for Zayn.”

Aw — so romantic!

“Zayn got down on one knee and presented Perrie with the ring. She couldn’t believe it. It’s a shock to everyone,” a separate source also added to The Sun.

Perrie accompanied Zayn and the other One Direction boys at the band’s movie premiere, and she stunned onlookers in a black gown with sheer panels, a high pony tail and a big, HUGE diamond ring on her finger!

Fans immediately speculated that Perrie and Zayn were engaged.

We’re not very surprised by this new development. In a recent interview with Twist magazine, Perrie couldn’t stop gushing about Zayn.

“Zayn is so lovely,” Perrie said. “You know things are good when you can’t wait to see the other person. It’s a sense of friendship. The main thing I looked for is if he’s fun to be around, if I can have a laugh with him.”
