Zachary is best known as an actor. Some of his biggest roles include Sylar in ‘Heroes’ from 2006-2010, Spock in the 2009 film ‘Star Trek’ and its sequels, ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ and ‘Star Trek Beyond,’ and various roles in the ‘American Horror Story’ series.

In addition to acting, Zachary has become an inspiration in the LGBTQ+ community. He came out as gay in 2011 after the suicide of gay teenager Jamey Rodemeyer. He said that he felt ‘living a gay life without publicly acknowledging it is simply not enough to make any significant contribution to the immense work that lies ahead on the road to complete equality.’

He has been a supporter of inspiring organizations like The Trevor Project and publicly showed his support for Proposition 8. He also campaigned for Barack Obama in 2012. Some of Zachary’s ex-boyfriends include actor Jonathan Groff and model Miles McMillan.
