‘West Side Story’ — Photos — Steven Spielberg’s ‘West Side Story’ will hit theaters on December 10, 2021. The film was delayed nearly a year because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Steven’s reimagining features a stellar new cast, including Rachel Zegler as Maria and Ansel Elgort as Tony. ‘West Side Story’ marks Rachel’s feature film debut. Her vocals are absolutely stunning. The film also stars David Alvarez, Mike Faist, Corey Stoll, Brian d’Arcy James, Maddie Ziegler, Ariana DeBose, and more. Rita Moreno, who notably played Anita in the 1961 original film, will play Valentina in the 2021 film. The first trailer, released during the Oscars, featured Rita singing one of the original songs ‘Somewhere.’ The original film made stars out of Rita, Natalie Wood, and Richard Beymer.
