Sarah and Wells’ love story is basically a Nicholas Sparks novel. The “Modern Family” star first learned of Wells by tuning into Season 12 of “The Bachelorette” in 2016, where the radio DJ vied for Joelle “JoJo” Fletcher’s rose. JoJo eventually sent Wells home, which was lucky for Sarah. The ABC star continued to watch Wells bartend on “Bachelor in Paradise” in summer 2017, and she started following his Twitter account. They exchanged tweets until Wells eventually slid into Sarah’s DMs, with this fateful message: “Next time I’m in LA, I’m taking you out for drinks and tacos.” That date became a reality on Sept. 16, 2017, the same day Sarah had to hit up an Emmy Awards party. It was also three days before Sarah had to be hospitalized for her second kidney transplant, and Wells even FaceTimed the actress while she was in her hospital bed. They made their relationship public the next month, and have been inseparable since! In July 2019, Wells popped the question while the lovebirds were on vacation.
