Her first acting role was playing Carmen Silva on ‘Days of Our Lives.’ She’s had additional roles on other soap operas like ‘The Young & the Restless.’ Her breakout role was in the 1996 film ‘Independence Day’ alongside Will Smith. She also had a breakthrough role in F. Gary Gray’s film ‘Set It Off.’ She’s also had notable roles in ‘Kill Bill,’ ‘Ella Enchanted,’ and ‘Sharknado’ movies. She played Candace, the sister of Cookie Lyon, on ‘Empire.’ She starred in and produced the Lifetime drama series ‘Missing’ from 2003 to 2006. She received an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series for her performance. Vivica recently launched a podcast called ‘Hustling with Vivica A.
