Tom Felton is an English actor best known for his iconic portrayal of Draco Malfoy in all eight Harry Potter films from 2001 to 2011. His acting career, however, began years earlier with his 1997 film debut in The Borrowers. During the height of the Harry Potter franchise, Felton remained closely tied to the wizarding world, but in the years since, he has expanded his repertoire with diverse film and television roles — and even launched a career as a singer-songwriter, releasing several indie tracks and performing live for fans around the world.
In a major full-circle moment, Felton recently made his Broadway debut, stepping back into Draco’s shoes for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child at New York City’s Lyric Theatre. The actor began his run on November 11, 2025, portraying an older version of Draco Malfoy — now a father to Scorpius Malfoy — in a limited 26-week engagement set to continue through May 2026. This milestone makes Felton the first actor from the original film franchise to appear in the Tony Award–winning stage adaptation.
Felton said earlier this year that returning to the role felt “surreal,” describing it as “a full-circle moment,” since he’s now the same age as Draco in the play. His opening-night performance earned a standing ovation from audiences and glowing reviews from critics, cementing his evolution from screen wizard to Broadway star.
