‘The Red Line’s two-hour series premiere will air April 28 on CBS. The series will broadcast in two-hour installments across four Sundays. ‘The Red Line’ is an eight-episode event series that follows three very different Chicago families as they journey toward hope and healing after a tragedy connects them all and causes them to question their assumptions about themselves and each other. Noah Wyle and Aliyah Royale play father and daughter — Daniel Calder and Jira Calder-Brennan. Daniel is a high school history teacher mourning the death of his husband, an African American doctor who was shot, while unarmed, by a white cop. As Daniel tries to comfort their grieving daughter, the two butt heads when she decides she needs more support than her father can provide. She seeks the understanding of someone who knows what it’s like to grow up as a young black woman and searches for her birth mother to learn more about her personal history, culture, and community. The show also stars Emayatzy Corinealdi, Noel Fisher, Michael Patrick Thornton, Elizabeth Laidlaw, Vinny Chhibber, and Howard Charles. See more photos of ‘The Red Line’ in our gallery now.
