The film is a look back at the rise, fall, and redemption of Tammy Faye Bakker. Jessica does a complete transformation to play Tammy Faye, complete with heavy makeup, prosthetics, and wigs. She stars alongside Andrew Garfield, who plays Tammy Faye’s first husband Jim Bakker. Jim and Tammy Faye became famous when they began hosting the Christian news program ‘The PTL Club’ in 1974. They also helped created Heritage USA, a Christian theme park in South Carolina. However, sex and money scandals on Jim’s end saw their success crumble. Jim and Tammy divorced in 1992. ‘The Eyes of Tammy Faye’ also stars Cherry Jones as Rachel LaValley, Vincent D’Onofrio as Jerry Falwell, Sam Jaeger as Roe Messner, Gabriel Olds as Pat Robertson, Fredric Lehne as Fred Grover, and more.
