Terry Hu hits the carpet at the ‘Zombies 3’ film premiere in Los Angeles on July 9, 2022. Hu is starring in the film and making history as Disney’s first non-binary lead. Born in Manhattan and then moving to China with their grandparents for 2 years as a baby before being sent back to the US, Terry’s always had their love for the arts. By the time they were in 5TH grade, Terry began acting and going out for auditions in the city. Terry’s parents were supportive of their acting goals when they were still in school but wanted them to find a more ‘traditional’ job in the future. From a young age, Terry knew they were queer, but it wasn’t until Terry was in 7TH grade when they discovered the word ‘bi-sexual.’ When Terry was a junior in high school, they decided they wanted to continue to pursue acting as a career and took a road trip out to California with their brothers who were looking for schools. When it was time for Terry to decide on colleges, they decided SoCal would be the best move to also continue acting while attending UCLA. After graduating from university and getting a degree Terry took a gap year before deciding if they wanted to continue on with their education. During that year, Terry submitted themselves to an ABC Talent Search and ended up winning in November of 2018. From their Terry began working and going out for auditions before landing a few short film roles as well as ‘AMERICANIZED’.
