Season 41 of ‘Survivor’ premiered on Sept. 22, 2021 on CBS. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the show had to take two seasons off — in the second half of 2020 and first half of 2021 — because there were restrictions placed on filming. So, fans were more excited than ever to have the show back!

This season featured 18 brand new players, split into three tribes of six, and a major change to the game that had never been done before. Instead of playing for the classic 39 days, season 41 was only 26 days long, because a required 14-day quarantine amidst the coronavirus. This meant jam-packing strategic moves, challenges and more into a much shorter period of time. The show considered it a “new era” in the world of ‘Survivor,’ and the timing was perfect, as it was coming off the incredible all-winners season, which aired at the beginning of 2020.
