The Weeknd was the performer for the 2021 Super Bowl Halftime Show on Feb. 7, 2021. He was announced as the performer for the big game in November, and opted to take the field without any other surprise celebrity guests. The Weeknd performed some of his biggest hits at the game, including ‘Blinding Lights’ and more. The performance went down in the midst of the big game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, led by Tom Brady, and the Kansas City Chiefs, led by Patrick Mahomes.

Rather than just staying in the middle of the field for his performance, The Weeknd took over the stands to light up the entire stadium during his set. Amidst the coronavirus pandemic, the Super Bowl and Halftime Show were welcome entertainment for Americans across the country.
