Summer Britcher

Summer Britcher — Summer Britcher is a world champion Luge athlete. The 27-year-old will be competing in the 2022 Winter Olympics. She was the first team member to qualify for the USA Luge team. She discovered her passion for the sport at just 11 years old. This will be her third year competing in the Olympics. She first competed in the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi and the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeoungchang. While she didn’t place at either of those Olympic games, she has won 5 World Cup Championships in 2015, 2017, 2019, 2020 and 2021.

Unfortunately, the professional athlete sustained an injury just before the 2022 Olympics. She had a clean break distal bone of her middle finger that she sustained during a crash in the Sigulda World Cup in January 2022. Fortunately, she will still be able to compete in spite of her injury and go for the gold in Beijing.
