Smokey Robinson Pics — Smokey Robinson is one of the biggest names in Motown! He is credited for following founding the genre, following the strides of Berry Gordy. He got his start in the music industry when he formed the band The Matadors, which later became The Miracles. That’s when he linked up with Berry and got the band a contract with Motown Records. He was with the group from 1955 to 1972, when he left to become a music executive for Motown Records. He also focused on establishing himself as a solo artist and wrote hits like “Cruisin” (1979), “Being With You” (1981) and “Just to See Her” (1987).

As far as his personal life goes, the legendary singer has been married twice. He married his fellow The Miracles band member Claudette Rogers Robinson in 1959 and they had two children. Unfortunately, they divorced in 1986 after multiple infidelities on his end. He then tied the knot with Frances Glandney in 2002 and they’re still happily together to this day.
