Robin Williams, born July 21, 1951, was an American actor and comedian. Robin was beloved by fans across the globe, and created some of the most iconic roles in the contemporary film canon. Robin got his training at the prestigious Juilliard school. 

Robin rose to fame on the TV series ‘Mork & Mindy’ before catapulting through his standup career and earning larger roles in film. In 1982, he starred in the film ‘The World According to Garp,’ alongside Oscar-nominee Glenn Close. From there, he starred in memorable films like ‘Good Morning, Vietnam,’ ‘Dead Poets Society,’ ‘Hook,’ ‘Aladdin,’ ‘Mrs. Doubtfire,’ ‘The Birdcage,’ ‘Good Will Hunting,’ and so many more. 

Over the course of his career, Robin earned a slew of honors and awards for his work in TV and film. Most notably, he was nominated for four Academy awards, winning his fourth nomination for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for ‘Good Will Hunting.’ Sadly, on Aug. 11, 2014, Robin Williams died at the age of 63 by suicide after struggling with depression for most of his life.
