The singer, 27, showcases a new collection from sportswear giant, Puma – and poses among stacks of textbooks The new SG x PUMA line is described as a “confident athleisure collection, featuring versatile apparel, sporty footwear and accessories for an effortlessly chic look”. The company said in a statement: “Selena wanted her third collection with Puma to be comfortable yet stylish and stand out in a class of its own.” It features Selena’s SG Runner and the iconic Cali, an evolution of the classic Puma California, to which she has given her own twist. “This collection with Puma was one of my favourite ones to design. I think the final product is beautiful, I feel so confident wearing it and hope everyone does too,” said Selena. They are said to have had a “timeless, scholastic mindset when designing the collection”. The star, 18, appears in the promotion for the sportswear brand’s iconic Puma Suede trainers / sneakers.
She appears alongside a motorbike and poses on a New York subway car.
The images will be showcased in PUMA stores globally and featured on social channels.
This season the brand aims to showcase young talent in the music and entertainment industry, starting with reality star and ‘social media phenomenon’ Jenner.
A spokesperson for Puma said: “These kids don’t work 9-5, they’re on Snapchat 24-7 and the Suede is a staple in their sneaker rotation.
“Today they are keeping the sneaker culture interesting and alive with their unique sense of style and influence.”
The Puma Suede was first introduced in 1968.
The images were captured by legendary street photographer Jamel Shabazz for the brand.
